![]() ![]() The amount of money that is being spent on online advertising is insane. I once hypothesized that there is an "advertisement bubble" happening right now. I got 0 business out of it and will never use the service again. All the "likes" and crap were from so obviously fake accounts or click farms. ![]() ![]() ![]() I tried Facebook advertising for my company once, and with a bit of digging on the reported "success" I found it was absolute B.S. What I cannot figure out is if website ads really work? If I'm so annoyed by ads that I seek out ways to disable them, and if I can't disable them I'm either reluctantly compliant but very irritated by the company, or simply won't access the content, how is that positive? Have I EVER clicked an ad? I don't think so, though maybe that's not true. I'm assuming all the ad blocking companies are trying to figure out how to run undetected and that will be the next step in this game. Or, in YouTube's case that just started detecting ad blockers, they leave a warning message up for about 5 seconds but then you can proceed. That said, more and more websites now detect ad blockers and force you to disable the ad blocker to see the site content. I'm blown away by how effective ad blockers in web browsers are and amazed that not everyone uses them. ![]()
